I am a LCMS pastor’s wife and a homeschooling mother of four beautiful children. I enjoy cooking, though I need a recipe from which to begin, and I enjoy trying new things (most of the time). I also enjoy sewing and quilting, though I do not have much time to spend on those hobbies. I love to read. I always take the time to read something. I subscribe to a few magazines and love to get books from the library. I try to read to the children regularly, and I believe that I have passed on my love of reading to them as they frequently grab books from our shelves to look through or read.
I have blogged before, writing about politics, books, and religion, but I quit because blogging always feels so self-important and takes time away from the things that I need to do. However, my Grandmother expressed her joy at reading my words and how she misses them, so I decided to start writing again. This blog is named for her. She suffers from mental illness, and I hope that my words will encourage her to press on in faith, even when she feels scared and anxious. I also hope this will be encouraging for my Grandfather, who has been a faithful husband to my Grandmother for over fifty years. Thanks to both of my grandparents for their examples of faith and faithfulness even through life’s struggles and pain.
Here you will find book reviews, commentary on life as a mother and a pastor’s wife, devotional thoughts, etc. Words about the things that are important to me.
