I am a LCMS pastor’s wife and a homeschooling mother of four beautiful children. I enjoy cooking, though I need a recipe from which to begin, and I enjoy trying new things (most of the time). I also enjoy digital scrapbooking, sewing, and quilting, though I do not have much time to spend on those hobbies. I love to read. I always take the time to read something. I subscribe to a few magazines and love to get books from the library. I try to read to the children regularly, and I believe that I have passed on my love of reading to them as they frequently grab books from our shelves to look through or read.
I have blogged before, writing about politics, books, and religion, but I quit because blogging always feels so self-important and takes time away from the things that I need to do. However, my Grandmother expressed her joy at reading my words and how she misses them, so I decided to start writing again. This blog is named for her. She suffers from mental illness, and I hope that my words will encourage her to press on in faith, even when she feels scared and anxious. I also hope this will be encouraging for my Grandfather, who has been a faithful husband to my Grandmother for over fifty years. Thanks to both of my grandparents for their examples of faith and faithfulness even through life’s struggles and pain.
